Greta Thunberg will be featured on Sweden’s new postal stamp.

The climate activist’s work has been recognised and championed by the government, who said that her actions are preserving “Sweden’s unique nature for future generations”.

The new stamp is part of a series that focuses on the environment.

Postnord said the stamps “should reflect our time, where the environmental issue has been relevant and present for many years, not least through Greta Thunberg’s strong voice.”

Thunberg, who recently turned 18, is pictured yellow raincoat stood on top of a hill.

PostNord’s Kristina Olofsdotter said: “We’re pleased that Greta, among several illustrations of important nature, will be symbolised on our stamps. These natural places are very important and we all need to do our part to preserve them.”

Thunberg shot to fame when she skipped school to protest outside the Swedish parliament in Stockholm – demanding that the government do more to tackle climate change. Soon after, millions of schoolchildren joined the protest and join the “School strike for the climate” campaign.
